Welcome to Kaptured In Kamera

Hello, and welcome to Kaptured In Kamera, a place where I will share my photos and thoughts about photography in general. I like to keep things casual and friendly, kick up your feet, and enjoy.

So, why a photography blog? The primary reason is to share my images, and the stories behind them on my own platform. My online presence has mostly been on social media platforms, and that has turned into a meme-fest. Here, I can go into greater depth, or share my thought process behind a photo session.

I’ve made a list of things I plan on covering in future posts:

  • Tips and Tutorials of techniques I’m playing with.
  • Gear Talk – What, Why, and How I use my stuff. (Also stuff I’m lusting after)
  • The occasional travel experience.
  • General photography thoughts from a personal perspective.
  • A whole lot more.

The Featured Photo

I want to kick off this blog with a shot from my latest mini-excursion. Blackhawk Plaza, in Danville California is an upscale mall with some beautiful waterscapes, including waterfalls and ponds. I arrived well before sunset to get to know the scene. I noticed it was practically empty, so I knew I wouldn’t be blocking foot traffic.

This image was a 4 second exposure, shot at f8, 14mm. I placed the camera on the edge of the pond to frame the shot. I then put the camera on a 2 second delay to minimize motion blur due to operator error.

There it is, what do you think? Don’t forget to check out the BlackHawk Plaza Album in my Gallery for more images from that night. Feel free to leave a comment below. Be sure to drop by as this blog grows. Until next week. Bye for now.
